Open positions

We welcome students with overlapping interests to engage with our lab through various positions, including Postdoctoral Scientists (Scientist C and Scientist D), Postdoctoral Research Associates with institutional or central government funding support, PhD candidates, Research Fellows, Research Assistants, Project Students, and Project Assistants. Additionally, we offer opportunities for both long-term and short-term traineeships.

Post-doctoral positions: We seek bright, motivated Ph.D. holders with expertise in 2D and 3D cell biology, particularly in spheroids/organoids. Successful candidates should demonstrate excellence with Q1 journal publications, proficiency in molecular techniques, quantitative microscopy, and a passion for mechanobiology. To apply, send your CV, a concise proposal with well-defined aims and objectives, a statement of interest, and 3 references. Candidates who wish to apply for external fellowships should contact at least 4-5 earlier.

Ph.D. studentship: We are actively anticipating upcoming Ph.D. positions and welcome candidates with hands-on experience, particularly those holding credentials such as CSIR (JRF), DBT (Cat-I), ICMR, or INSPIRE-JRF, to initiate contact with us. Additionally, students can also gain admission through the institutional fellowship channel. To be eligible through this channel, candidates should have qualified in GATE in the respective subjects with a rank of 1000 or better. Before submitting a formal application, we encourage interested individuals to reach out with a well-articulated research proposal. This approach enables us to better comprehend your research interests and align them with our ongoing projects.

Research Fellow and Project Assistant positions: We currently have several Junior Research Fellow (JRF) and project positions open for candidates who have completed their MSc degree. This interdisciplinary lab values diversity and welcomes applicants from various educational backgrounds. While previous experience is advantageous, it is not mandatory. We prioritize candidates with a strong passion for learning and enthusiasm. If you are interested, please reach out to Shubhasis by submitting your up-to-date CV, the contact information of two referees, and a 1-page write-up detailing your career goals. This information is crucial for us to assess how we can effectively support your career development.

Internship and Training opportunities: We extend a warm welcome to students interested in undertaking their MSc thesis/dissertation with our team. It is essential to note that the preferred duration for this engagement is a minimum of 4-5 months. We, unfortunately, do not encourage applications for short-term training due to various reasons. However, we do provide support for 1-2 students annually through the SNBNCBS summer training program. It's important to mention that undergraduate students are eligible for training only if they are recipients of the INSPIRE-SHE scholarship. If you meet these criteria and are enthusiastic about a longer-term commitment, we encourage you to contact us.
